A winter night at the rig

Some nights, there is not a lot of flying, and tonight was one of those. The beauty of our group is that while we all really love trapeze, we're not in it just for the time on the rig. Sometimes, we have just as much fun hanging out and chatting. It's been a pretty cold and rainy winter for us here in the desert, so it's made for some chilly nights when we mostly prefer to hang by the warmth of the fire.

The sky was so pretty tonight, there must have been a full moon behind these clouds. It looked so cool with the colors of the pool lights, the mushroom and the Christmas decorations. We really do have the prettiest rig! I feel eternally grateful that I get to be part of all of this.

We had a small group tonight, just the four of us--Jan, George, Ali and me, so we didn't even take a single swing. Sometimes, we do what Jan has labeled "courtesy swings" on nights when you don't really feel like flying or the weather is crappy. Tonight we didn't even set up, much less take a single courtesy swing. Instead, we found a few beers in the fridge and chatted by the fire.
Gotta love the Christmas poop emoji inflatable behind Jan....
I'm not sure why, but nights like this are so much fun. Our trapeze family makes me so happy--even if we're not flying, sometimes it's just nice to spend the evening hanging out with your friends.
Fun BeReal from the night....don't know what BeReal is? You must not be (or have) a teenager. It's a new social media platform the "kids these days" are using. An alert will go off randomly throughout the day telling you it's time to Be Real. You have 2 minutes to take a photo (and it uses your front and back camera at the same time), and it's mean to show you....get this, being real. Of course, you don't actually have to do it at that time, you have until it goes off again the next day. I started using it because Ava does, and now it's kind of fun to keep up. Of course, my only friends on there are Ava, some of her friends, some cousins and maybe one or two adults. You'll probably see me share them on here from time to time. Front and back camera at the same time, it's pretty smart!
